Assistant Principal

Alyssa Williams is Assistant Principal responsible for the strategic leadership of Behaviour for Learning and Student Rewards. Alyssa then has the responsibility for the operational implementation for behaviour and standards at Key Stage 4.

She joined HASU in September 2019 and has helped to build a positive classroom culture across the Academy where students value education and show respect to staff and students alike. She has also implemented a new rewards system where students are recognised and praised for their achievements, progress, behaviour, and attendance as well as their individual contribution to the Academy.

Alyssa has a BSc in Mathematics from Trent University and completed her BEd at Queen’s University in Canada.

Alyssa moved to England from Canada in September 2011 where she started her teaching career at Harris Academy Merton and later became a Subject Coordinator overseeing the Maths department and a pastoral team of 8 staff. She joined HASU as the Director of Learning for Maths and has since developed a bespoke Maths curriculum that challenges and inspires our students.

Alyssa’s perfect day is getting up to do a HIIT workout, play Lego with her son and enjoy a deliciously fancy meal!
