The Harris Academy Sutton Sixth Form

At the Harris Sutton Sixth Form, “HASU6”, we strive to develop the whole student: our aim for academic excellence is mirrored by our ambition to support the development of individuals with character and personality, fit for a life of study or work that will follow their time spent with us.

Our offer is one of co-educational, high-quality teaching which takes place in an inclusive, state-of-the-art learning environment. Although we offer a wide range of A-Level subjects, we also recognise and support the development of the life skills that will set a young person apart as they look to move onto further study or the workplace.

Our curriculum, the way we deliver it, and our wider offer of Personal Development opportunities pitches academic excellence alongside key attributes such as collaboration, independence of thought, persuasive argument, leadership and resilience to ensure our students are able to stand toe-to-toe with any young person in terms of their ability and confidence.

We are fairly unique as a sixth-form as we only have one building! We see this as a strength for us as an Academy and an opportunity for our students:

  • Each HASU6 student is taught as an integral member of the wider school.
  • Our expectation is that as a key part of each students’ development they will look to play a part as a leader in the Academy Community
  • Specific areas of the building are allocated to the sixth-form to manage and develop in accordance with our focus on individual personal development and responsibility.

Our expectation is that all students in the sixth-form reflect their commitment to ambitious academic excellence and high standards of personal development through wearing appropriate, business-style focused clothing.
