Ms Matthews

Acting Assistant Principal

Katie Matthews is an Acting Assistant Principal for wider curriculum at the Academy and is the school’s Designated Mental Health Lead. She joined HASU in September 2019 as an English teacher and has been a key part in growing the Academy’s pastoral team, becoming a Head of Year as well as supporting the growth of the English department.

 

Katie has a BA in American Studies from University of Sussex, completing her PGCE through the Leadership Development Programme with Teach First. 

 

Previously, Katie has taught in schools focusing on her passion, English, as well as leading on intervention programmes, completing an NPQML focused on ensuring all students are making progress in English. 

 

Katie enjoys musicals, reading and trying out new hobbies.
