Blended Learning

For students isolating due to contact tracing or a positive COVID-19 test, HASU will do everything we can to ensure that students are able to access high quality learning materials which mirror the taught curriculum in school as far as possible. We recognize that online learning cannot be a substitute for high quality in-school teaching, but in the absence of this have worked hard to ensure that what student are accessing from home gives them the best possible chance of being able to rejoin in-school teaching after their period of isolation with as few gaps in their learning as possible.

All work for isolating students will be set via this website. Please see the section on this page for your year group.

What will Blended Learning work look like?

Students isolating will follow the Blended Learning Timetable, rather than their normal academy timetable. The Blended Learning Timetable can be viewed here.

This timetable is in place to ensure that students can access five high quality lessons a day and to protect against any technical difficulties which might cause them to miss out on one or more of their lessons.

Each morning, five lessons will be posted. Students can complete these in any order.

For students who are isolating but are not unwell, blended learning work is compulsory.

How can my child get support?

Should an isolating student wish to access support or advice at school, either from their tutor, a class teacher, or a member of the student wellbeing team, they are encouraged to do so by emailing their tutor or head of year.

Who is my child’s Head of Year?

Year 7 - Miss Matthews (

Year 8 - Mr Duffy (

Year 9 - Mr Wise (
