Surrey Cricket Programme

Cricket at HASU6 with Surrey CCC
At Harris Academy Sutton Sixth Form (HASU6), we are proud to be part of the Surrey County Cricket Club Sixth Form Cricket Programme – a pioneering initiative that allows students to combine A level study with elite cricket training and wider opportunities in sport.
What our students gain
- Professional coaching from Surrey CCC staff
- Strength and conditioning training to perform at their best
- A chance to develop beyond the pitch, with employability workshops and certified courses in areas such as coaching, media, hospitality and groundskeeping
- Opportunities to volunteer as cricket coaches with the Surrey Cricket Foundation, including running sessions for local primary schools at the Ben Hollioake Learning Centre at The Kia Oval
A programme going from strength to strength
Since launching in 2023, the Sixth Form Cricket Programme has expanded rapidly, with HASU6 now part of a growing network of state schools across Surrey and south London. Applications have risen by over 250%, showing the huge appetite for this unique blend of academic excellence and sporting opportunity.
Why it matters
Being part of the programme means our students don’t have to choose between top-class A level study and high-level cricket development – at HASU6 they can achieve both. The skills and experiences gained prepare students not only for further study or professional cricket, but also for a wide range of careers in and beyond sport.
