Our Librarians
Our wonderful Librarians at HASU are Miss Lock (currently on Maternity Leave) and Mrs Heagney.
Having worked with books for 15 years, at Waterstones, Foyles, a small independent bookshop and a previous school library, Miss Lock is a fantastically knowledgeable resource for our students.
She promises to Lock students in as readers for life, and guarantees that she can find any student, even those who claim they ‘don’t like reading’, a book they’ll love.
Mrs Heagney was a teacher for 26 years in schools local to HASU. After teaching, she was a public library manager for the Kingston Library Service.
Having a balance of both teaching and libraries, Mrs Heagney is perfectly placed to encourage student engagement and nurture their love of books, with an understanding of curriculum expectations.
Mrs Heagney firmly believes the HASU Library is a safe space for our students and welcomes anyone who doesn't yet know they love to read!
