Harris Academy Sutton receives planning go-ahead

Harris Academy Sutton has been granted planning permission on the site of the former Sutton Hospital on Chiltern Road.

Our academy will open in September 2018 for our first 195 Year 7 students, and will be housed in excellent, well-resourced temporary accommodation in its first year before moving to its exciting new building which will be an integral part of the new London Cancer Hub. The new building is set to be completed by September 2019 and will eventually cater for 1,275 students.

James Fisher, Principal Designate of Harris Academy Sutton, said:

“This is great news. The new building will give our students world-class science accommodation, with the space and facilities we need to excel in the arts and sport.

Following a really positive consultation with the local community, our plans are already well underway for providing an excellent and exciting education for our first 195 students from September 2018.”

Parents who are interested in applying for a year 7 place can apply through the local authority co-ordinated admissions form.
